All the necessary arrangements have been put in place for the counting of votes polled in Telangana in the Assembly elections on November 30.
The fate of the candidates locked in the EVMs for the 119 Assembly seats will be unsealed on Sunday.
The counting will be held at 49 centres across the State, and three-step security has been arranged near each counting centre.
Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) has been invoked at the counting centres to prevent any untoward incidents. And only those who obtain passes from the Election Commission of India (ECI) will be allowed to enter the centres.
Restrictions have been imposed on bursting crackers and on processions for 24 hours after the counting.
A minimum of 60 seats is required to form the government. The ruling BRS fought the high-decibel election on the plank of development during the last ten years. The Congress and the BJP went to the public with their anti-BRS campaigns. Most exit polls appear to point to a Congress victory.
