He stated that police personnel from the rank of commissioner to that of home guard would all take part in the Bonalu duties to ensure the smooth conduct of the festivities.
"Bonalu processions from different colonies of the Old City will reach the Lal Darwaza temple. For the benefit of the devotees, we have imposed traffic curbs across the relevant parts of Hyderabad. 8,000 personnel will be deployed across the city. Personnel from the Rapid Action Force, the Telangana State Special Police, the City Rapid Action Force, the Quick Response Team and Commissioner's Task Force will all be on duty," the CP added.
Kumar then reiterated that the police devised a detailed action plan for the Bonalu celebrations.
Apart from these measures, to maintain "peace" during the celebrations, the city police have declared that all toddy and wine shops, including bars in restaurants, will remain closed from 6 am on August 1 to 6 am on August 3. Only bars in luxury hotels and at registered clubs within Hyderabad and Secunderabad will be exempt from downing their shutters.
