Owaisi Should Apologise For Comments: Ponguleti

AICC Secretary and MLC Ponguleti Sudkhakar Reddy on Thursday advised MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi to tender an apology to the people for making provocative speeches.

Talking to reporters at the Congress Legislature Party office here, Ponguleti pointed out that the High Court has made certain remarks on Owaisi's family, and a few good things about Akbar's father the late Salahuddin Owaisi. He said that Akbar should not spoil the image of his family further, and should tender an public apology for his provocative remarks.

Speaking about the Telugu Desam Party president, Ponguleti alleged that N Chandrababu Naidu has failed to play the role of the leader of the Opposition. He said that instead of criticising the government, he should have given constructive suggestions.

The Congress leader said that the TDP chief has no moral ground to speak about the proposed hike in power tariff, as it was during his regime that the police resorted to firing on those who protested against a similar hike. He said that Naidu never apologised for the incident and had even tried to influence the investigation. (INN)
