A local court has issued a Non Bailable Warrant (NBW) against MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Oawaisi, in connection with the hate speech case.
The Nampally court today issued the NBW, and asked the Mandannapet police to produce Akbaruddin Owaisi before it on May 9.
The Nampally VII Metropolitan Court was moved by a lawyer, Karunasagar, who had alleged that Akbaruddin Owaisi has made hate speeches hurting religious sentiments.
Earlier, there was a plethora of cases filed against Akbaruddin, in Sangareddy, Nizamabad, Adilabad and other places.
Owaisi was in Adilabad district jail for 40 days, in connection with two cases of inflammatory speeches.
He booked for allegedly using provocative language against a community at public meetings in Adilabad and Nizamabad districts in December last year. He was arrested on January 8, and faces charges of sedition and "waging war against the nation".
In the first case, the Adilabad granted him bail on the condition that he will not enter the town of Nirmal, and that he would surrender his passport.
In the second case, the Nizamabad court allowed Owaisi bail on the condition that he cooperates with the investigation. (INN)
