The Ranga Reddy District Court on Tuesday issued a non-bailable warrant against MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, for his failure to appear before it in the hate speech case.
Second Metropolitan Magistrate Durga Prasad dismissed the petition filed by Akbar Owaisi's counsel, which sought exemption from personal appearance, and issued the NBW.
The case pertains to a petition filed by an advocate in the court against the alleged hate speech delivered by Akbaruddin Owaisi in the town of Nirmal of Adilabad district.
It may be mentioned here that Akbaruddin Owaisi was
arrested by the Nirmal police on January 8, after a case was registered against him for allegedly making a hate speech.
Separate cases were also registered against him in Nizamabad, Osmania University PS and other places.
Owaisi was released on bail on February 15. (INN)
