GES: KTR Prepares Ground For Investments In State

Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao addressed entrepreneurs from across the country in a run up to the Global Entrepreneurship Summit.
Hyderabad | 26th November 2017
Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao on Sunday said that Hyderabad was fast becoming the most sought after place in the country for investments, and that the state government was making rapid strides in growing business and industry, especially in the IT and aerospace sectors.

The minister was addressing a preparatory meeting for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2017 at HICC in the presence of Cyient founder president B V Mohan Reddy, Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi, and other young entrepreneurs and businessmen. The meeting was jointly organized by Niti Aayog, T Hub and ISK.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister stressed on the need for even more investments in Telangana, and appealed to the business leaders and industrialists of national and international repute in the meeting to participate in the growth of the state.

Giving them reason, he said that Telangana was the number one-ranked state in the "Ease Of Doing Business" ranks of the union government. This was because of the new industrial policy of the state that had made it possible for business ventures to get all the necessary permissions to get a unit sanctioned in just two weeks, which was a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country, he claimed.

The state also offered a conducive atmosphere for startups, he added.

Meanwhile, Director General of Police (DGP) of Telangana M Mahender Reddy on Sunday took stock of the security arrangements for the GES.

"Elaborate security measures have been taken up, and around 10,400 security personnel will be deployed across the city to prevent any untoward incident," the DGP said.

Reddy also said that all the routes leading to HICC, Falaknuma Palace and the Golconda fort would be monitored by nine different teams.

"The teams include civil, traffic, city armed reserve, Telangana State Special Police, Greyhounds, Octopus, city security wing / intelligence security wing, dog squad and anti-sabotage check teams," Reddy informed the media.
