Hyderabad | 4th April 2016
Launching the much-ballyhooed Telangana IT Policy, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today exhorted all the IT honchos and businessmen of national and international stature to benefit from the government's efforts to make the State an IT hub by making investments.

Earlier, the Chief Minister gave away copies of the IT policy brought to him by T1 and T2 robots prepared by RRDL indigenously, to Governor E S L Narasimhan, Infosys Chairman Emeritus N R Narayana Murthy and IT Minister K T Rama Rao.

"We have launched a first-of-its-kind single window new industrial policy which is 100% hassle-free and corruption-free," he claimed on the occasion.

He added that his government had given permissions to as many as 1,691 companies in just 15 days. Of them, 883 companies had already even began functioning in the State, he said.

The CM reiterated that his government would offer complete support to all companies coming up to open their businesses.

IT Minister K T Rama Rao said that the new IT policy was aimed at making Telangana the number one State in India in the sector. The policy would give priority to the youth of the rural areas and towns, and encourage startups, he said.

He projected Hyderabad as an unrivaled place in its infrastructure and connectivity to other cities in the country, and said that efforts were on to make the city an unsurpassed destination. The city, which currently held the second position in the IT field, would soon become the number one destination, he vowed.

"The new IT policy and four other sub-policies will increase IT productivity and exports by offering all possible support and facilities to the companies coming up with investments. We will surpass other cities in the IT sector soon," he said.

He added that young graduates would get skill development training to become employable.

Besides the main policy, the other sub-policies launched included Gaming and Animation by Rajendra Srivastava, Electronic Manufacturing by V K Saraswat, and Rural Technology and Innovation by Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari along with ministers Jupally Krishna Rao and Jagadish Reddy.

T Hub signed deals with 28 companies in the presence of the Chief Minister on the occasion. Narayana Murthy, K T Rama Rao and Cyient chief B V R Mohan Reddy also spoke.
