Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu today said that Centillion Networks' subsidiary HC Robotics would invest Rs 500 crore in the State, and that the investment would further strengthen Telangana's position as a tech and innovation hub.
Speaking at a press conference at the Secretariat alongside company representatives, the minister said, "With its headquarters in Hyderabad, HC Robotics operates in nine countries, specialising in drone technology, drone software, telecommunications, robotics and aerospace software development. The company currently employs 2,000 professionals. With an additional Rs 500 crore investment, it is set to create 500 new jobs this year, with employment opportunities expanding to 2,000 over the next three years."
"Until now, IT investments in Telangana have been largely concentrated in Hyderabad. However, the current State government is committed to expanding the IT sector in the State beyond Hyderabad into tier-2 and tier-3 cities. This initiative ensures that young professionals from smaller towns also gain access to high-quality employment opportunities. As part of this vision, we are actively encouraging industrialists to invest in these regions. Centillion Networks has already launched operations in Karimnagar, and several other companies are following suit," the minister added.
Babu also said that the State government was committed to providing strong support for small and medium enterprises. "Pending incentives for MSMEs amounting to Rs 4,500 crore have been stuck since 2016. Since assuming office, we have prioritized clearing these dues. Additionally, if land allocated for industrial projects remains unused without justification, we will reclaim those lands and take legal action against unauthorized usage. A comprehensive review of the Industrial Health Clinic, which was set up to revitalize struggling industries, is also underway. If it proves beneficial, we will allocate additional funds to ensure its continued operation," he said.
The minister claimed that Telangana's status as an attractive investment destination was growing and that the success of the agreements signed at the World Economic Forum in Davos proved it.
"Of the 18 MoUs signed at Davos last year, 17 are already in motion, and 10 have achieved over 50% implementation. This year, we have secured agreements for investments worth a staggering Rs 1.8 lakh crore. Unlike the opposition, which indulges in baseless propaganda and fear-mongering, we are actively working to turn these agreements into reality," he said.
