The Adani group of companies has donated Rs 100 crore to Telangana's Young India Skill University.
Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani group, called on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at the Secretariat and handed over a cheque for Rs 100 crore to him.
Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, and Principal Secretary of the Municipal Administration & Urban Development (MA&UD) department Dana Kishore, who is also the Managing Director of the Musi Riverfront Development Corporation, were also present during Adani's interaction.
The university, located at Mirkhanpet village of Kandukuru mandal in Rangareddy, aims to provide skill training to youth in 17 courses and facilitate job opportunities in the private sector. The institution plans to expand and train one lakh students annually. Currently the university operates from the Engineering Staff College of India in Gachibowli, as it awaits the construction of its own building getting completed. Admissions have already begun for this year, with classes starting on November 4. Initially, six priority courses will be offered, with plans to add more later. Anand Mahindra, a renowned industrialist, serves as the university's chairman.
