Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today said that the newly established Telangana Young India Skill University should be made a role model in the country, and that its responsibility had been handed over to the University Board.

The Chief Minister held a meeting with Board members of the university and industrialists at the Secretariat and asked them to participate in the State government's endeavour.

He said that 150 acres of land and Rs 100 crore had been allotted to the university by the State government, and asked the industrialists to participate in the development of the university and establish a corpus fund for its full-scale management.

"Henceforth, the responsibility of the university is being handed over to Board Chairman Mahindra Anand. I am confident that Mahindra will bring his brand image to the Skill University as he has experience in this field as well as a unique identity," Reddy said.

The officials were also advised to name the buildings after the companies or donors that fund the university.

"There is no dearth of funds for the Sports University. The State government is ready to bear even if it costs Rs 1,000 crore. I also request all the industrialists and businessmen of Telangana to extend their cooperation for the university," Reddy said.

On the occasion, the Skill University Board Chairman Anand Mahindra praised the Chief Minister's idea to provide skilled youth from Telangana to the world, and said that Reddy was a visionary leader.

"I liked the proposals made by the Chief Minister for the Skill University, and immediately expressed readiness to be the Chairman of the university," Mahindra said.
