Former film actress and current Samajwadi Party MP Jayaprada might join the TDP fray, if reports are to be believed. She is said to have been in discussions with the TDP president Chandrababu Naidu, who is reported to have okayed the move.
Jayaprada began her political career with N T Rama Rao's Telugu Desam Party in 1994, but she soon joined Chandrababu Naidu when he broke away from NTR. Then, she joined the Samajwadi Party, and got elected from Rampur in Uttar Pradesh in 2004. She was re-elected in 2009.
All is not well with the Samajwadi Party, as both Amar Singh and Jayaprada are out of the party, and there has been quite some bad blood between them and party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav. Jayaprada's re-entry into the TDP holds significance since it means the TDP might have something now to up its glamour quotient.
