Activists of two student unions of the Hyderabad Central University today clashed violently with each other.
The activists belonged to the ABVP, which is an affiliated organisation of the BJP, and the SFI, which is affiliated to the CPI.
Some activists were injured in the clashes.
The police reached the spot and gave first aid to the activists. They also rushed the injured activists to a nearby hospital.
Condemning the incident, AISF state secretary K Manikanta Reddy and general secretary Putta Laxman demanded that the police take stern action against the activists of the ABVP as they were the ones responsible for the violence. The SFI leaders alleged that the activists of the ABVP were resorting to the attacks as they were scared of facing defeat in the upcoming student union elections, and were in frustration. They also termed the ABVP as an organisation of goons.
