About 90 girl students from Kasturba School in Bheemgal of Nizamabad district were hospitalised today due to food poisoning.
According to reports, the girls experienced stomach pain and vomiting after having dinner on Monday night, and subsequently fell ill.
They were immediately taken to a hospital in Nizamabad where their condition is said to be stable.
Meanwhile, Minister for Roads and Buildings Vemula Prashanth Reddy turned serious about the incident and directed District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanmanth to take strict action against those responsible for it.
The minister ordered the Collector to immediately conduct an investigation at the field level.
He also inquired about the health condition of the students by speaking with the hospital's superintendent Prathima Raj over the phone, and asked her what better treatment could be provided to the girls.
