Telangana Municipal & IT Minister K T Rama Rao on Monday said that the state government would construct 2.72 lakh double bedroom houses for providing shelter to those belonging to the economically weaker sections of the society.
The minister was addressing the media after inaugurating 310 newly-constructed double bedroom units at Christianpally in Mahbubnagar district.
"Of the proposed 2.72 lakh houses, one lakh units will come up in Hyderabad while the remaining will be constructed in the other 30 districts," he said.
Stating that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was striving to provide better housing facilities for the poor, KTR said, "Telangana is the only state in the country providing such a scheme for its people."
