Three women died, and two others were injured, when a train ran over them while the women were trying to cross a railway track last night near Karimnagar, said the railway police on Monday.
The five women, who had been trying to cross a railway track in the vicinity of Uppal railway station, were hit by the Navjeevan Express train.
The women who died have been identified as P Ailamma, aged 45; R Swaroopa, aged 44; and M Sammakka, aged 40. Two other women, who sustained injuries, were rushed to MGM Hospital in Warangal, and are reportedly in a stable condition.
