A tragic road accident occurred in Andhra Pradesh today when a private travel bus collided with a tipper truck transporting gravel, resulting in the deaths of 14 passengers who perished in the consequent fire.

According to police reports, a Harikrishna Private Travels bus, travelling from Jagtial in Telangana to Kanigiri in Nellore district, met with the accident at Rayavaram in Markapuram.
At the Palakala Quarries junction, the bus collided with a tipper truck approaching from Chimakurthi, which was loaded with gravel. The collision sparked a fire, and the bus was completely gutted.

Four bodies burnt beyond recognition were found inside the bus.
It is reported that there were 40 passengers on board at the time of the accident.
The accident is reported to have occurred between 6 am and 6:30 am.
Alerted by the incident, locals rushed to the scene, while police and fire department personnel arrived shortly thereafter to carry out rescue operations.
The injured have been shifted to a private hospital in Markapuram, where they are currently receiving treatment. The death toll is likely to rise further.
