18th Edition Of Hyderabad 10K Run On December 11
10,000 to 14,000 runners are expected to take part in the popular event, which will be organised in two categories - 10K and 5K.

The organising committee of the Hyderabad 10K Run Foundation today announced the 18th edition of the Hyderabad 10K Run.
The Freedom Hyderabad 10K Run, as it will be called, will be held on December 11 at People's Plaza on Necklace Road.
The announcement was made in a function held at the T-Hive Conference Hall in the e-Galleria Mall in Hitech City, and a brochure and a poster were unveiled. Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Government of Telangana, was the chief guest.
The event, which is traditionally organised on the third Sunday of November, had to be shifted to December 11 this year as the venue was not available.
10,000 to 14,000 runners are expected to take part in the popular event, which will be organised in two categories - 10K and 5K. The early bird entry fee, valid until November 10, is Rs 1,000 for the 10K run and Rs 700 for the 5K run. Registrations have already begun, and a couple of thousand people have already registered.
The organisers said that while the runs made many fit, in due course they also supported the sports community with the funds raised.
"What started as a non-political, non-religious activity in 2003 with a noble motive to create a platform for health-conscious people of the city and in due course support and fund the Mission Sports initiative is today 20 years old. It has the unique distinction of being India's first and the oldest run," said Suresh Babu, film producer, while addressing the launch.
P Chandra Shekhar Reddy, Senior Vice President - Sales & Marketing of Gemini Edibles & Fats India Ltd, said that Freedom Oil was happy to associated with the event. This time the focus was on rice bran oil which was an excellent source of good fats, he said.
