16 Crore Masks To Be Distributed Free In AP
The masks are being manufactured by DWCRA women groups following a decision by the CM that masks should be distributed free to all the people in the state.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy today examined and wore masks stitched by DWCRA women groups under the supervision of MEPMA.
In a review meeting held in Tadepalli on Sunday, MEPMA Mission Director Naveen Kumar handed over the masks to the Chief Minister for his perusal.
The CM wore one of the masks on the occasion and posed for photographs along with other officials of the state.
The masks were manufactured following a decision by the CM that his government would distribute masks free of cost to all the people in the state.
Approximately 16 crore of these masks will be distributed among the state's 5.3 crore people, with each person being given three masks free of cost.
The Chief Minister also asked officials to take steps to bring volunteers, ASHA workers and sanitary workers under insurance coverage.
"Apart from this, all employees who are on the frontline should also be included in the insurance coverage," he said.
Chief Secretary Nilam Sawhney, Special Chief Secretary (Health Medical & Family Welfare) Dr K S Jawahar Reddy, DGP Gautam Sawang and MEPMA Additional Director Sivaparvathi participated in the session.
