Jagan Irate With Hospitals For Huge Covid Charges
The Andhra Pradesh CM today expressed his anger over the collections of huge amounts in fee by private hospitals for the treatment of Covid-19 patients.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy today expressed his anger over the collections of huge amounts in fee by private hospitals for the treatment of Covid-19 patients.
Reddy was speaking during a video conference with all district Collectors, and asked them to focus on the issue.
The CM made it clear that no private hospital should charge more than the amount fixed by the state government, and warned the managements of the hospitals of serious action if they charged more.
He also asked the private hospitals to show humanity towards Covid-19 patients.
Reddy added that the responsibility to provide beds to Covid-19 patients within 15 minutes of their arrivals at hospitals lay on the shoulders of the district Collectors. He asked the officials to also focus on the phone calls received on the 104 and 14410 call centres of the state.
Later the CM has also held a review meeting on the issue of the floods in the Krishna and Godavari rivers. He asked the officials to prepare estimates on the crop damages sustained by the farmers of the state, and also asked the officials to take steps for the provision of additional compensation of Rs 2,000 per head to the victims of the Godavari floods.
He also asked them to give an additional 25 kg of rice, one kg of red gram, one kg of palm oil, one kg of onions, one kg of potatoes and two litres of kerosene to the victims before September 7.
The CM also asked the officials of the irrigation department to start work on all the damaged irrigation projects.
