Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy today flagged off 1,088 modern and sophisticated ambulances for the 104 and 108 services on the occasion of National Doctors' Day, in Vijayawada.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that it gave him immense pleasure to flag off the ambulances on National Doctors' Day.
He said that the day would now remain a golden chapter in the history of the state.
Reddy communicated his feelings over the launch of the ambulances on his official Twitter handle.
The ambulances will serve as mobile clinics.
The CM also said that he was extremely happy about the inauguration of a cancer care centre in the Guntur government hospital.
The CM launched the NATCO cancer care block through a video conference.
He also announced an increase in the salaries of the employees of the 108 emergency staff. They will now get Rs 20,000 as compared to the earlier Rs 10,000 per month, based on their services.
