Telangana Congress Legislature Party deputy leader T Jeevan Reddy today lashed out at IT Minister K T Rama Rao for speaking "arrogantly" against the Opposition leaders.
He asked KTR if the latter indeed believed that the TRS had the capability to bury the Congress, which had conceded statehood for Telangana by respecting the sentiments of the people of Telangana.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday, Reddy said that the TRS leaders could barely counter-accuse the Congress of having done nothing whenever they exposed the TRS government's failures.
"The TRS leaders' allegation that I contested the election against KCR expecting a minister post shows their ignorance. Both KTR and his sister Kavitha have to learn about my political career from their father K Chandrashekar Rao. I became an MLA much before KCR, and became a minister much before KCR," he said.
Finding fault with KTR's statement that he was elected wearing the TRS kanduva, Reddy asked KTR not to forget that KCR too had won elections while wearing the Congress kanduva.
Reddy also pointed out that he had gone to jail for Telangana, and asked KTR and Kavitha how many times they had been jailed in the struggle for Telangana.
Reddy warned that he would table a privilege motion in the Assembly against KTR if the latter's comments continued.
Reddy also said that the TRS government had no moral right to continue in power after the courts had censured it several times.
The Congress MLA also wondered about Chief Minister KCR being the only leader who failed to pay tributes to Dr B R Ambedkar on the latter's birth anniversary.
