Congress Accuses KCR Of Driving Telangana Into Debts
The Congress said the TRS government had borrowed Rs 1.40 lakh crores in just 4 years, compared to Rs. 56,000 crores in 5 years by the previous government.
Pointing out that the previous Congress regime had borrowed Rs. 56,000 crores in its five-year rule, Telangana Congress Legislature Party deputy leader T Jeevan Reddy said that the TRS government had borrowed Rs 1.40 lakh crores in just four years, and was going strong.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, Reddy charged Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao with transforming the fledgling state into a debt-ridden one instead of making it a "Bangaru Telangana".
Reddy alleged that KCR had given impossible assurances during the 2014 election campaigning. The Chief Minister had come nowhere close to his promise of providing jobs to one lakh youth, and had left them youth demoralized, he alleged. He also said that the CM had completely forgotten about his promise of providing 12% reservation for Muslims.
Reddy also disparaged the Rythu Bandhu scheme as being more beneficial to big farmers than to small and marginal one. He said that about 62% of Telangana's farmers had less than 0.45 acre.
