Senior Congress leader and MLC T Jeevan Reddy today lambasted the TRS-led state government for its alleged failure to ensure the implementation of the promises made to Telangana by the Centre in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.
Speaking to the media, Reddy said, "The TRS government has failed in pressuring the Centre into implementing the promises made to our state in AP Reorganisation Act. The government has been inefficient and negligent in a number of other respects as well. Although AP Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy has been drawing water from our state's share of the Krishna river waters, the inefficient and lackadaisical KCR regime has done nothing to stop him. Our CM, K Chandrashekar Rao, has also played with the lives of the tribals in the state by not providing an adequate number of reservations for them. Further, to cover up his own failure in implementing a long-awaited unemployment allowance, he has decided to cite the economic ruin caused by the Covid-19 pandemic as the reason for the non-fulfilment of such a key promise that has been parroted by the TRS for years. This is shameful! The pandemic began last year. What was stopping KCR from implementing the dole in the years before that? The CM and his party have only cheated the people of the state with their false promises."
"And, what is even worse is that it seems like the KCR government is competing with the Centre in privatising PSUs. The CM is the one who privatised the Nizam sugar factory causing many people to lose their jobs. His actions reveal his callous attitude towards governance," he charged.
The leader then demanded that the state government create supernumerary posts for the tribal community to enable them to build secure futures for themselves, and that it buy all the maize produced by the state's farmers.
