Kittu, the son of a YSRCP contestant in the upcoming co-op polls in Kurnool district, was brutally murdered in his own home, early this morning.
Kittu's father Lakshmanna is contesting for the position of First Director in the cooperative elections, from the Dhone mandal in Kurnool. Reportedly, Kittu had gone yesterday to Venkatanarayanapalli to campaign for his father, where he was stopped by Congress leaders and cadre, who refused to let him campaign. Kittu went ahead with his plan despite the opposition, and went back to his home in the town of Dhone later that night.
According to the police, Kittu's home was attacked by four men armed with sickles at around 1am, who then murdered him brutally, and ran away. Kittu's body was found by the locals, who then reported in to the police.
The victim's family members say that neither Lakshmanna, nor Kittu, had ever had bad relations with anyone. They allege that it was the Congress cadre Kittu had had words with earlier that day who had been responsible for the murder.
The police, who are currently investigating the case, say that the whereabouts of the suspects have been ascertained, and that they will be arrested as soon as possible.
