Jana Sena Party founder-president Pawan Kalyan today predicted that the YSRCP would get only 67 seats in the next Assembly elections.
He made these remarks citing a survey.
Addressing a meeting of the legal cell of his party at Mangalagiri, Kalyan alleged that the ruling party had not fulfilled the promises that it had made to the people in the 2019 Assembly elections, and that the people were now facing the consequences of voting the YSRCP into power.
He added that he had formed his political party in order to serve the people and fight for their problems, and that he was ready to face all problems and hardships that came his way till he registered a victory in the elections.
Stating that it would be impossible to bag power quickly in the State, Kalyan said that he couldn't do what NTR did after forming his TDP, and that he was trying to bring change in the State more than just win elections. However, he claimed that the Jana Sena was getting more popular with each passing day in the State, and that the party would come to power in the next Assembly elections. He called upon the party's leaders and workers to take the party to the doorsteps of the people, and to work doubly hard in the Assembly constituencies where the party was strong.
He also said that he would field only those leaders who could win the elections, as candidates.
Kalyan said that he had postponed the Jana Sena Yatra scheduled to be held in October, and that he would hold the yatra after strengthening the party. He also announced that he would hold constituency-wise reviews of the party very soon.
