Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president Chandrababu Naidu, on Saturday, alleged that the family of former chief minister, the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy were shareholders in the mines owned by the company Vedanta.
Speaking to media persons before participating in a mahadharna in front of Kakinada collectorate to protest against the permissions given to liquor barons to set up outlets, Naidu further alleged that the late YSR had started a newspaper and television channel since he needed media support.
Naidu alleged that these media houses owned by YSR's family were disseminating propaganda in favour of the family. The TDP chief alleged that the people were being cheated through 'false information'.
The former chief minister also criticized the installation of YSR statues across the State. He said, "There will be more statues of YSR than that of Mahatma Gandhi now."
