TDP politburo member Payyavula Keshav on Monday came down heavily on former APIIC chairman Ambati Rambabu, for
linking Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu to the irregularities in the Emaar Properties scam.
Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan, Payyavula rubbished Ambati Rambabu's charges, and alleged that the latter misleading people by showing the GO 359 issued during the TDP regime in 2002.
Stating that the irregularities in the allotment of lands between APIIC and Emaar Properties took place during Ambati Rambabu's stint, he said that the TDP was ready for a public debate on the Emaar scam at any time.
The politburo member alleged that the Congress had handed the prime land over to influential persons, on a platter, in exchange for huge bribes. Villas were similarly allotted, he charged.
Payyavula Keshav stated that Ambati Rambabu's role would be exposed if the CBI probes the Bhomiteja Enterprises scam thoroughly.
He alleged that the YSR government had diluted the APIIC-Emaar agreement, and that it took decisions according to its whims, causing a huge loss to state exchequer.
He also found fault with Ambati Rambabu issuing guidelines to the CBI on its functions and how it should investigate the case.
"It is strange that the accused are advising the CBI on how they should be probed," he stated. (INN)
