YSRCP To Rake Up Special Status Issue In Parliament
Party chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy asked his MPs to corner the Centre on the Andhra Pradesh Special Status demand in the Parliament session beginning Nov 26.
YSR Congress Party chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy today asked his party MPs to go with a strategy to corner the Centre on the Andhra Pradesh Special Status demand in the Parliamentary session to begin from November 26.
The aim is to create a sort of pandemonium in the Parliament session through protests in this regard, it is learnt.
At a meeting called with MPs and others at Lotus Pond, the YSR Congress Party president and Leader of the Opposition in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly asked his MPs to rake up the issue aggressively.
The demand has been pending for well over a year as the State's TDP government was not willing to exert pressure on the Centre due to its being an ally of the BJP, he reportedly felt.
From day one of the Parliament session, the YSRCP should make it to podium by asking the Centre to give Special Status, Jagan is understood to have asked his MPs.
As the session is scheduled to continue till December 23, the YSRCP has ample time to press the Centre until it comes out with some solution or statement on the issue, he said.
