The YSR Congress will organise Rythu dharnas across the state on 25 June, to talk about the failures of the state government in addressing farmers' issues in the kharif season.
"We will organise Rythu dharnas in all Assembly constituencies, demanding a proper supply of seeds and fertilizers to farmers, and an increase in input subsidy," the party's Central Governing Council (CGC) members T Kavitha and J Krishna Murthy told reporters on Friday.
"The party will also take up the deep-rooted conspiracy behind the arrest of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, and the way the case is being handled. We will write to the president, the prime minister and other high offices, as we fear that Jagan's life is under threat," they said.
The meeting also reviewed the by-poll results. The party claims that it was found that the Telugu Desam Party and the Congress had worked in tandem in Ramachandrapuram, Narsapuram and Parkal, and that they had sacrificed their votes and lost their deposits in order to defeat the YSR Congress.
A membership drive would be taken up to strengthen the party and its organisational structure, they said.
On the issue of the presidential elections, they said that the CGC has left the decision to the party leadership. (INN)
