TRS Govt Ignoring Farmers' Suicides: YSR Congress
YSR Congress MP P Srinivas Reddy accused the State government of trying to escape from its responsibility of containing the ongoing spate of suicides by farmers.

YSR Congress Party MP P Srinivas Reddy criticized that TRS government as having failed to achieve anything during its 16-month rule so far.
Talking to reporters after winding up the Odarpu Yatra at Karimnagar, he accused the State government of trying to escape from its responsibility of containing the ongoing spate of suicides by the farmers of the State.
Though about 1,400 farmers had committed suicides so far and six other persons had lost their lives by consuming illicit toddy, the government was blaming the previous governments even now, he charged.
Karimnagar alone had witnessed 162 suicides by farmers and 55 by weavers, he lamented.
The YSRCP leader demanded a complete crop loan waiver by November, fresh loans thereafter, declaration of drought-hit mandals, and a call for an all-Party meeting to address the issues plaguing the farmers.
The Opposition parties would all help the government if it extended help to farmers to prevent suicides by them, he said.
He also flayed the government for merely delaying works in the name of design changes on the Thotapalli, Ellampally and Pranahitha-Chevella projects, which had been started long back by the then Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy.
