Telangana Finance Minister T Harish Rao today said that the people infected with Covid-19 had been causing it to spread to others around them by "being negligent" about prevention and isolation guidelines.
During a tour of Siddipet, where he took stock of the Covid-19 situation in the region, the vaccination program for the
administering of the second dose to those who had received the first injection, other health facilities, the process of farm produce procurement, and farmers' issues, the minister expressed his concerns regarding the "negligence" of some Covid-19 patients.
"Infected people are roaming about in public spaces freely. This is exacerbating the pandemic situation in Telangana. I would urge them to stay home and follow all the stipulated Covid-19 safety and prevention protocols to stop the deadly disease from spreading further, and to break the chain of the pandemic. Home quarantine is a must for all Covid-19 patients," Rao asserted.
He then reiterated that the patients should take care not to spread the highly contagious disease by staying home and following all the relevant safety norms.
The leader also directed the concerned officials to be more vigilant about such incidents and to treat such negligent people strictly.
Addressing agricultural issues, the minister said, "All farm produce must be procured at the relevant MSPs. Payments must be given to the farmers without any delays. For the upcoming kharif cropping season, we must be ready to procure produce by June 1. Arrangements to increase godown facilities have to be made. Agricultural officials should make a sincere effort to help the farmers sell their crops at the MSP."
