YSR Congress, TDP Have Deceived AP On Special Status: Harish Rao
The Telangana minister alleged that both the YSR Congress and the TDP had abandoned the demand for special category status for AP for their selfish politics.
Telangana Minister for Finance T Harish Rao today alleged that both the YSR Congress Party and the TDP had deceived the people of Andhra Pradesh and had abandoned the demand for special category status for AP for their selfish politics.
Addressing the BRS' Aatmeeya Sammelanam program at Jogipet in Adole Assembly constituency of Sangareddy district, Rao said that the YSR Congress had come to power promising to achieve the special category status for Andhra Pradesh but was now silent on the issue.
Likewise, the TDP had come out of the NDA in protest against the delay in granting the status to the State, but the same party was now again trying to align with the BJP, Rao said.
"Both parties in Andhra Pradesh are now maintaining silence over the demand for special category status for the State, and have deceived the people for their selfish politics," Rao said.
He also lambasted both parties for maintaining silence over the union government trying to make the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) a scrap unit.
Responding to the remarks of Andhra Pradesh minister Karumuri Nageswara Rao that the development programs being implemented in Andhra Pradesh were better than those of the Telangana government, Harish Rao challenged Nageswara Rao to visit Telangana to see the real development at the grassroots level.
