YSR Congress Party on Saturday demanded the arrest of TDP MP Sujana Choudary for his money-laundering activities, and a thorough probe into his global hawala network.
Speaking to reporters here, party spokesperson Gattu Ramachandra Rao disclosed that YSRCP would write to the probing authorities seeking investigation into the hawala transactions of Sujana Choudary and C M Ramesh, who were the frontal operators of TDP president Chandrababu Naidu.
Referring to the reports published in a section of the press that a Hyderabad court has ordered the freezing of Sujana Choudary-owned Sujana Universal's bank accounts and attachment of its movable properties for defaulting on a Rs. 120 crore loan to a Mauritius Bank, Gattu said that the report only proved that the roots of Naidu's corruption kingdom had spread far and wide across the world.
"Naidu, who gifted away 65 state PSUs to his benami operators for peanuts, had amassed illegal wealth to the tune of thousands of crores of rupees, and directed it to his foreign contacts through benami operators like Sujana Choudary and C M Ramesh.
"He is now bringing that amount into the state through the same hawala route and using it to come into power in the elections. This must be thoroughly probed," Gattu demanded. (INN)
