Pamarru YSR Congress Party MLA Uppuleti Kalpana of the Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh joined the TDP on Friday.

Soon 14 MPTC and two ZPTCs belonging to the YSRCP would change their loyalty.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu welcomed her into the Party by organizing a welcome ceremony at his residence, and was attended by Party President Kala Venkat Rao, Minister Devineni Umamaheshwar Rao, MP Konalla Narayana, MLAs Jalil Khan, Party leader Varla Ramaiah and others. Speaking to the media later, Kalpana said that she had decided to rejoin the Party due to the development and welfare schemes taken up by Naidu.

Kalpana, who was a TDP leader before the united AP bifurcation, switched her loyalty to the YSRCP in 2014, and now returned to the Party.
