Vijayamma In Contempt Of Court: TDP
TDP opines that YS Vijayamma should be held in contempt of court for filing a petition in Supreme Court, seeking a change in the bench hearing Naidu’s case.
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Tuesday requested the High Court to make a serious note of the charges Pulivendula MLA YS Vijayamma allegedly levelled in the petition she filed in the Supreme Court, stating that her actions amounted to contempt of court.
Vijayamma had filed a petition in seeking a change in the bench hearing the case on TDP president Chandrababu Naidu's alleged illegally amassed assets.
Talking to reporters at the NTR Trust Bhavan, TDP floor leader in the state legislative council Dadi Veerabhadra Rao stated that Vijayamma's allegations amounted to contempt of court. He said that it was wrong on the part of the YSR Congress Party leader to raise suspicions on the credibility of the High Court's judges.
He demanded that the High Court take up the matter suo motto and initiate action against Vijayamma, holding her in contempt of court. He also demanded that action be taken against Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy who he suspects directed this move.
Veerabhadra Rao also accused Jagan and former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy of looting the state. He alleged that the father-son duo looted the public by treating the state government as their private company.
"While YSR acted as the chairman, Jagan took on the role of Managing Director, and together they looted the state," he charged. (INN)
