Eminent educationist and former MLC Chukka Ramaiah stated that the people, including the youth, who propelled the separate Telangana movement were not happy with the present government.
After inaugurating the Telangana JAC's Martyrs Spoorthy Yatra at Gun Park on Wednesday, Ramaiah said that the farmers who were affected by the agricultural crisis were severely distressed and committing suicides, and no steps or initiatives by the government to create employment was leading to disillusionment and depression among the youth.
He said that the JAC was taking up a bus yatra to know the opinion of the people on what needed to be done to improve things.
Speaking on the occasion, JAC Chairman M Kodandaram said that the dream of bringing light into everybody's life had not been realized though it had been three years since Telangana won statehood. Land scams and corruption in contracts had increased in the state, and the society would benefit only if the people gained awareness, he said.
Kodandaram said that the first phase of the three-day bus yatra would happen in Medak district.
