Youth Held In Meerpet For Raping Child

The Meerpet police today arrested one Chejarla Gopi, 19, a student residing in Huda Colony in Meerpet, for violating a child, and charged him under Sections 376(2), 366, 342 and 506 of the IPC and Sec 5(M) R/W 6 of the POCSO Act 2012.

The police said that they had received a complaint from a woman of the Goud community that the accused's brother had asked for a bottle of cold water on Friday afternoon. She sent her niece (the victim), studying in class III, to the accused's house to give the water bottle.

When the girl did not return for a while, the complainant went to Gopi's house and found him and the girl in the bedroom, and the girl's pants open.

When asked, the girl told her that Gopi forcibly took her into the bedroom and made her lie down and removed her pants. He then closed her mouth and violated her.
