An auto-rickshaw driver from the city raped a 9-year-old girl after threatening her.
The heinous crime took place in NTR Nagar in the L B Nagar Assembly constituency.
The parents of the victim lodged a complaint against the driver with the L B Nagar police, who registered a case and arrested the accused Saleem from the Old City.
Meanwhile, BJP MLA Eatala Rajender called on the family members of the victim in the Vanasthalipuram area hospital.
He spoke to the family members and consoled them, and demanded that the State government take stern action against the accused in the case.
