Harish Rao Beats Up Official

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi has, once again, proved that no political outfit can match its strengths in terms of violent and abusive behaviour agaist the people who do not agree with it.

Today, TRS leader T Harish Rao harshly beat up Chander Rao, a grey-haired OSD (Officer On Special Duty) at the AP Bhavan in New Delhi, in full view of TV cameras.

The reason - the AP Bhavan were whisking away the body of Yadi Reddy, the youngster who committed suicide allegedly for Telangana, after the post-mortem.

TRS leaders Etela Rajender, K T Rama Rao and B Vinod Kumar had planned to pay floral tributes to Yadi Reddy at AP Bhavan, once his body was to be brought back from the post-mortem. The AP Bhavan officials, however, arranged for the body to be directly sent away to the airport.

TRS activists and politicians staged a dharna at the AP Bhavan as a result of this.

Harish Rao barged inside the offices, kicking open doors and loudly demanding to know who Chander Rao was. The latter, on being roughed up, said he was only acting according to the Resident Commissioner's directions. The Commissioner, too, stepped out, only to hear Harish Rao, KTR and others demanding to know why he had written such a letter and "who had given him a job there".

Harish Rao, later, apologized for his offensive behaviour, but said that it was only his indignation at the "insensitivity" of the AP Bhavan that made him act the way he did.
