Endowments Minister Jupudi Krishna Rao on Sunday directed the Endowment Commissioner to suspend 4 officials, including the executive officer, of the Lakshminarayana Temple of Yadagirigutta in Nalgonda district.
According to reports, the minister issued these directions to the Commissioner after taking a serious note of the poor amenities in the cottages that were provided to the devotees at the Lakshminarayana Swamy temple at Yadagirigutta.
The minister had noticed the condition of the amenities during his visit to the temple to inaugurate its newly-constructed main entrance.
The main entrance has been reconstructed and expanded to facilitate the simultaneous entry of more devotees into the temple.
The minister inaugurated the entrance after performing a special puja under the chairmanship of Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji. He then proceeded to take a tour to inspect the cottages in the premises of the hill shrine.
After seeing the condition of the cottages, the minister expressed his serious displeasure to the temple's Executive Officer Srinivasa Rao, electrical engineer Laxman Rao, sanitation incharge Raghu and the civil engineer, and sought an explanation from them.
Not satisfied with their explanations, Krishna Rao immediately telephoned the Endowments Commissioner and directed him to suspend them immediately from their posts. He also ordered an inquiry into the matter.
