After the successful conferences in coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions, YSR Congress honorary president Y S Vijayamma will extensively tour the Telangana region and hold meetings with party leaders, in order to pep up the poll atmosphere.
"Other issues discussed in the PAC include the plenary of the party, Sharmila's padayatra and the strategy to be adopted in the local bodies' elections," party PAC member & spokesperson Bajireddy Govardhan told reporters on Monday, after the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting.
"Y S Vijayamma will tour the Telangana region and hold district-wise meetings with the leaders of the party and its affiliate organisations, and step up the preparations for the ensuing panchayat, MPTC and ZPTC elections," he said.
According to the tour schedule decided by the PAC, Y S Vijayamma will hold meetings at Medak (on June 25), Nalgonda (on June 26), Mahbubnagar (on June 27), Khammam (on June 28), Ranga Reddy (on June 29), Karimnagar (on June 30), Wanragal (on July 1), Adilabad (on July 2) and in Nizamabad (on July 3).
"Sharmila's padayatra will be reaching its destination at Ichchapuram by the end of July, and the PAC has kept the option of holding a public meeting (by way of culminating the Maro Praja Prasthanam) open as suggestions have come to organize the meeting at Vizianagaram and Ichchauram as well," said Bajireddy.
Responding to questions on Boda Janardhan's exit from the party, he said, "He must have left the party due to a personal agenda. He was well-received, and had a good standing in the party.
"If Janardhan, who moved from TDP to TRS and then to YSRCP, decides to move to Congress, it is his choice, but he should not be talking ill of the party after he has left," warned Reddy. (INN)
