Suspended PCC general secretary Ambati Rambabu on Thursday said that former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy will launch his own political party 'soon'.
Refusing to reveal the date or the place when an announcement to this affect would come, Rambabu said that Jaganmohan Reddy himself would make the announcement.
Rambabu, whose proximity and loyalty to Jaganmohan Reddy is well-known, is considered as the former MP's unofficial spokesperson.
His statement comes in the wake of a rebellion in the cabinet after 2 ministers tendered their resignations, expressing dissatisfaction over the allocation of insignificant portfolios to them.
The news of the resignations, and that another 10 ministers are also uneasy about the allocations, has led to a flurry of activity in the Jagan camp.
Rambabu told media persons outside Jaganmohan Reddy's residence that the people of the state will have to wait for some more time till the announcement of the new political party comes. He added that the final decision would be taken only after consultations with the former MP's supporters across the state.
Rambabu also added that he was very optimistic about the proposed new party since the people had given their blessings to Jaganmohan Reddy already.
In an indicator of the possible date of announcement of the new party, he stated that an announcement would come before the by-elections to Pulivendula Assembly constituency which had fallen vacant after former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's widow tendered her resignation, along with Jaganmohan Reddy.
Rambabu also reiterated Jaganmohan Reddy's words of not trying to dislodge the Congress government in the state till 2014. He added that the Jagan group will have nothing to do with the Kiran Reddy government's survival or collapse.
