TRS Demands Special Package For Cyclone Affected Farmers
KTR alleged that farmers in Telangana region, affected in previous natural disasters since 2010, are yet to receive help from the government.

Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA K Tarakarama Rao on Thursday demanded that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy shift his focus from politics to providing relief and rehabilitation to the farmers who have been affected due to heavy rains.
Talking to reporters here, KTR said that crops spread across thousands of acres have been damaged in the Telangana region, due to heavy rains, in the last 2 days.
"Instead of providing relief to the people affected due to the Phailin cyclone, the Chief Minister has centred his energies on politics. Therefore, the affected farmers are yet to receive assistance from the state government," he said.
KTR demanded that the state government announce a special package for the affected farmers besides giving an input subsidy of Rs. 25,000 per acre.
He also demanded a payment of Rs. 5 lakh, as ex-gratia to the families of those killed due to the cyclone and heavy rains.
He alleged that farmers in Telangana region, who were affected in previous cyclones or natural disasters since 2010, are yet to receive help from the government.
The TRS leader advised Kiran Kumar Reddy to leave political issues for a while and to concentrate on the people's welfare.
He also accused YSR Congress Party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy of enacting a drama on Samaikyandhra. (INN)
