The CBI Special Court, Nampally, on Monday, remanded Jagathi Publications vice-chairman V Vijay Sai Reddy to judicial custody till 7 May.
The Special Court gave this direction after Vijay Sai Reddy surrendered before the court, following the cancellation of his conditional bail by the Andhra Pradesh High Court last Friday.
While extending the judicial remand, the court directed the CBI to file a counter affidavit before the court by Tuesday.
Earlier, the High Court, on Friday, cancelled the conditional bail granted by the CBI Special Court to Vijay Sai Reddy on 13 April in the disproportionate assets case of Jaganmohan Reddy.
While cancelling the bail to Vijay Sai Reddy, the court directed the Special CBI Court to review the case and hear the arguments afresh, to take a final decision on granting bail to him on Monday.
The High Court pointed out that the CBI Special Court has granted bail to Vijay Sai Reddy while finding fault with the CBI for not arresting 13 other accused in the case. (INN)
