The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday dismissed the statutory bail petition of YSR Congress Party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, who has been incarcerated at Chanchalguda Jail in relation to the disproportionate assets case.
Justice B Seshasayana Reddy dismissed the statutory bail petition on the grounds that the petition does not merit hearing.
It may be mentioned that Jagan had moved two petitions in the court seeking bail, one as a statutory right under Section 167 (2) Cr PC and the other as a regular petition under Section 437 of the Cr PC. After the dismissing the first petition, the court started the hearing on the second bail petition.
Jagan Mohan Reddy, who was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation on May 27, is presently lodged in Chanchalguda Central Jail. (INN)
