Following Y S Jaganmohan Reddy's
sensational arrest on Sunday, the Kadapa MP has been produced in the CBI special court in Nampally, on Monday.
The court started its hearing in connection with the first chargesheet against Jagan. The CBI has sought 14-day custody of Jagan.
The CBI alleges that there are 74 accused in Jagan's disproportionate assets case, and that Jagan had used his father's name to siphon off huge amounts of money to his companies. The CBI is also reported to be unhappy with Jagan's non-cooperation in the case.
However, 11 people, including Vijay Sai Reddy and Jagan have received bail in the first chargesheet.
Meanwhile, support for Jagan is increasing in pitch across the state. A YSR Congress worker in Hyderabad was arrested near the court, after he cut his hand in protest against Jagan's arrest. The man is being taken to hospital.
YSR Congress leaders in various districts have been taken into custody. Some of those arrested were Balineni, Nallapu Reddy, Chennakasava Reddy and Mekapati. Konda Surekha was arrested while she was on the way to Hyderabad.
