Goshamahal MLA and suspended erstwhile BJP leader Raja Singh today said that he would not join any political party.
He specifically said that he would never join the Congress, which was allied with his bete noire, the AIMIM.
He also said that he would abide by whatever decision the BJP high command took, and that if asked to resign as MLA, he would do so.
Singh also said he had no objection to a by-election being held in the Goshamahal constituency.
The MLA visited the Lal Darwaja Simha Vahini Ammavari temple this morning. On the occasion, temple administrators felicitated him.
Speaking with the media later, Singh extended Bonalu greetings to the people, and said, "After having a darsanam of the presiding deity, I spoke to a State minister who sought my cooperation in building a model goshala. Previous governments had politicised the proposal to develop the Simha Vahini Mahankali temple on a grand scale. Now, even the Congress government wants to take it forward, and I hope they build it grandly. And no matter which party a leader belongs to, everyone's goal is the same - to do good for the people."
He condemned those spreading misinformation about the Bonalu festival. "Some people are falsely propagating that the Bonalu festival is about boozing. There has long been a conspiracy to destroy the cultural essence of Bonalu," he alleged.
It may be recalled that Singh, who had been unhappy with the BJP leadership for some time, had tendered his resignation from the party on June 30, soon after N Ramchander Rao was named the BJP Telangana president.
