The YSR Congress has decided to highlight the failures of the Congress government in the ensuing budget session of the state assembly.
"We will highlight the anti-people policies of the state government, more so the steep hike in power tariff and the unprecedented and indiscriminate power cuts," party chief whip Balineni Srinivas Reddy and Deputy floor leader Dharmana Krishna Das told reporters here on Monday after the meeting of the Legislature Party.
"We have discussed the strategy to be adopted during the budget session, and we will voice the concerns of the general public which is under duress due to the spiraling prices, the hike of bus fares and power charges, and acute power cuts," they said.
On the MLC election, they said that the party has decided to field a candidate. The name will be finalised by party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. "We have decided to contest in the election, and we have our own strategy. We need not seek the support of any party and we will follow our own strategy."
On the no confidence motion, they said that it is the duty of the chief opposition party to table a no confidence motion and that the party would support it as and when it happens.
"Since Chandrababu Naidu has been very vocal during his padayatra about the failure of the state government, he being the leader of opposition should be moving the no-trust motion, and we will support it," they said.
When asked if YSRCP will move the no-trust vote on its own, they said, "If Naidu fails to move the no confidence motion, and then we will think of the strategy to be adopted." (INN)
