YSR Congress MLAs To Boycott AP Assembly Session
The opposition party is boycotting the session over the Speaker's failure to disqualify 21 YSRCP MLAs who joined the TDP without resigning from their posts.
The YSR Congress Party MLAs today decided to boycott the Andhra Pradesh Assembly session beginning November 10 in protest against the Speaker's failure to disqualify 21 YSRCP MLAs who joined the TDP without resigning from their posts.
The YSRCP Legislature Party met today and decided the party MLAs would attend the Assembly session only when the defecting MLAs were disqualified and those of them who were made ministers removed from the cabinet.
They alleged that 21 MLAs were admitted into the TDP in the presence of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu at his official residence, but all the defecting MLAs were being shown as YSRCP MLAs and were being seated in the Opposition benches.
Meanwhile, a bulletin issued by the Assembly said that the YSRCP had 66 MLAs. Even four ministers were listed as members of the YSRCP.
The opposition party also felt that the Assembly sessions should have been held in August, but that the government was holding them in November to shove the padayatra of Jagan from November 6 out of the limelight.
