The Leader Of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Chandrababu Naidu today wrote an open letter to the people of the state alleging that the ruling YSRCP had pushed the state from the frying pan into the fire.
He pointed out to the people that the coronavirus positive cases had doubled within a week's time in the state, and alleged that the cases were going up due to the sheer negligence of the ruling party leaders.
He told the ruling party leaders that the numbers were showing their inefficiency in controlling the spread of the virus after they first displayed huge immaturity in taking the virus lightly in the initial days.
He alleged that CM Y S Jaganmohan Reddy had made irresponsible statements about the coronavirus in the past, and that he had now retracted from those statements but was now making worse ones urging the people of the state to make the disease an integral part of their lives.
"Truly appalled at his foolish comments about making Covid-19 an integral part of everybody's lives. God save AP," he tweeted.
"What can I say about a man who keeps repeating that coronavirus is just a fever? It is because of his sheer carelessness that AP tops the charts in South India," he also said.
He said that all sections of the state were worried about the spread of the virus, and that the negligence of the officials of the state was the biggest tragedy in the state.
He also said that it was suicidal to allow the doctors and para-medical staff of the state to treat the corona-positive patients with the help of sub-standard PPE kits. He said that the plight of the doctors of Kurnool and Nellore districts who had tested positive for the coronavirus due to the usage of sub-standard PPE kits was a classic example of the same.
He also said that no government in the history of the country had suspended doctors and a Commissioner who had merely demanded proper kits to work.
